About this mod Machine translation
illustrate:
This mod allows you to define the starting location of XCOM.
It only works when you start a new campaign.
Please note that the starting mission will be a random location. This is intentional.
Please note that I am more active on the Steam Workshop page: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/? id = 635253356
Compatibility issues:
Compatibility issues confirmed with Sadbot's QuickStart mod for some users:
http:// steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails?id=624624424
I'm trying to find the problem and fix it (if possible).
There seems to be an issue with this mod when console commands are enabled. This is not Steam's launch option "-allowconsole -log -autodebug".
configuration:
It can be configured from XComSetHQLocation.ini
For Windows users, this file can be located here:
C:\ Program Files(x86)\ Steam \ steamapps \ workshop \ content \ 268500 \ 635253356
The default region is set to Western Europe (WorldRegion_WestEU), but can be changed to any of these. All areas in DefaultGameBoard.ini should *work.
List of regions from vanilla XCOM2:
WorldRegion_EastNA,WorldRegion_WestNA,WorldRegion_SouthNA,WorldRegion_NorthSA,WorldRegion_SouthSA,WorldRegion_WestEU,WorldRegion_EastEU,WorldRegion_NorthAF,WorldRegion_EastAF,WorldRegion_SouthAF,WorldRegion_EastAS,WorldRegion_WestAS,WorldRegion_NorthAS,WorldRegion_SouthAS,WorldRegion_NorthOC,WorldRegion_SouthOC
In-depth guide to setting this up in Windows:
Enter the folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Workshop\Contents\268500\635253356\Config
Open this file:
XComSetHQLocation.ini
Change this line:
NEW_HQ_LOCATION = “WorldRegion_WestEU”
Any area you want to use. Reviews list all regions.
An example is Northeast America
NEW_HQ_LOCATION =“WorldRegion_EastNA”。
Save and start XCom2. Your starting area should now be the area you selected.
Note, there is currently a bug where it will mess up if you select the same area as the one the game randomly selects.
If the first task is set in the region of your choice, you should probably reboot immediately.
troubleshooting:
If you have problems getting the zone to work, check the log files:
C:\ Users \ user \ Documents \ My Games \ XCOM2 \ XComGame \ Logs \ Launch.txt
The entry for this mod begins with "SetHQLocation:Mod loaded into new",
and ends with "SetHQLocation: Installation complete. Enjoy this fantastic game :)".
The most common error is if the area in the configuration does not match the game state, it should now
Add the following line to the log file: SetHQLocation: Failed! The configured area cannot be found in the game.
SetHQLocation:config in Region:*** NAME FROM CONFIG FILE HERE ***
SetHQLocation: Please check the spelling in XComSetHQLocation.ini.
SetHQLocation: Mod does not change the starting location.
SetHQLocation: Mod terminated.
Also, there seems to be some issues for Mac users with mods that usually work.

13.04.2016 - Update 5: Rebuilt and optimized code. The mod will now try to catch and prevent the mod from making changes if bad status exists.
Fixed a bug that caused issues when trying to set a new zone to one randomly created by the game.
Fixed a bug (actually bad design here :P) that caused the original HQ location to be removed, preventing players from receiving continental rewards from that continent.
11.03.2016 - Update 4: Removed previous bug fix as it caused another bug.
10.03.2016 - Updates 2 and 3: Fixed a bug that caused problems when trying to set a new area to one randomly created by the game. Also removed the source class, reducing this mod from 20MB to 8KB!
02.03.2016 - Update 1: Added some additional log file messages to help me debug the issue some of you are experiencing.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
