About this mod Machine translation
Replaced XCOM levels with more realistic counterparts.
describe:
If you're like me, you might find XCOM's ranking from 'Rookie' to 'Colonel' annoying. It doesn't make any sense since lieutenants and upwards are leading the fight rather than participating in it, and "newbies" and "squads" are unprofessional and not really professional.
For shadowy military organizations like XCOM, this module replaces a more realistic level. Since XCOM is a global multinational group, they use a simple ranking system to represent pay grade and experience rather than any specific country's ranks. The new rankings are as follows:
Rookie -> XCOM Trainee | X0
Squaddie -> XCOM Level 1 | X1
Corporal -> XCOM Level 2 | X2
Sheriff -> XCOM Level 3 | X3
Lieutenant -> XCOM Level 4 | X4
Captain -> XCOM Level 5 | X5
Major -> XCOM Level 6 | X6
Colonel -> XCOM Level 7 | X7
Commodore -> XCOM Level 8 | X8
I've also changed the Psionic rankings for those who don't think warlocks and mystics running around the battlefield are a reality. They are:
Rookie -> Psi Intern | Z0
Startup -> Psi Level 1 | Z1
Acolyte - > Psi Level 2 | Z2
Adept - > Psi Level 3 | Z3
Disciple -> Psi Level 4 | Z4
Mysterious -> Psi Level 5 | Z5
Warlock -> Psi Level 6 | Z6
Magus - > Psi Level 7 | Z7
Install:
Simply place the .int file of your choice into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\XCOM 2\XComGame\Localization\INT folder (or wherever you installed the localization folder if you installed it elsewhere).
To uninstall, delete it and replace it with the backup XComGame.int file.
Make a backup before installing anything.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
