About this mod Machine translation

Fight Ayys with 37 of your favorite (slightly modified) LOTR characters.

First the important stuff. These are the custom modules I had active when creating these characters:

  • Capnbubs' accessory pack
  • Custom face paint
  • Mod Everything
  • Ravenmores digital camouflage pattern
  • Customizable auxiliary weapons
  • Diversefacepaints
  • Custom headscarf-armor color/pattern
  • WA'sCustomGear
  • [LW2 Cmp] XCom 2 International Voices Pack
  • Masquerade party

I play Long War 2 with these and a few other mods and they appear to be fully compatible.

Taste of things:

  • This pool contains 43 characters. I'd like to add more, but I have some self-imposed limitations that make this difficult.
  • I'm limiting the character pool almost entirely, if not exclusively, to characters who are active at the start of the fellowship. So you won't see the likes of Alatar and Pallando, who were thought to be missing or dead, nor will you see Gil-Galad, who was killed in the Second Memorial.

-I DID include characters from non-major media (such as The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age video game).

  • Middle Earth's races are represented by XCOM nationalities as I see fit. So for example: People in this pool are usually from the Americas. While the Gondoli are American citizens, the Rohirrim are of South American (usually Argentinian) origin.
  • As mentioned above, some characters could be changed to better represent their nationality in the game. So for example: Éomer, Argentinian, has darker features and speaks Spanish.
  • I took some subjective liberties with the characters based on popular (or occasionally personal) opinion.
  • I didn't include summaries of any of the characters because there's already a lot of media about them.
  • "Bad guys" are automatically selected as enemy VIPs, or as recruitable soldiers.
  • Designated classes are mostly placeholders, although I usually choose a class that I think represents the character.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
