About this mod Machine translation
This adds new development paths for leaders, XCOM soldiers. Leaders train in guerrilla tactics schools and receive perks that help the entire unit.
This mod adds an upgrade path for XCOM soldiers, namely becoming a "leader". Leaders draw from 10 new abilities, of which a leader can eventually learn 5.
- Leaders are unlocked by upgrading to Guerrilla Tactics School. This upgrade is purchasable when the player has at least one soldier achieving the rank of Sergeant.
- The Guerilla Tactics School upgrade unlocks a training slot for training soldiers with leadership skills.
- Soldiers must have the corresponding baseline level to be able to train the leader perk, starting with Sergeants being able to train the first leader level.
- Only one leader can participate in a mission at a time, except in emergencies.
- Many leaders use the concept of "command range" - this range increases as the leader gains leader levels by training additional leadership abilities. This can be viewed by toggling the button in the task UI.

v2 was released with the following fixes:
- You can no longer train the psi perk at the same time as the leader perk. This fixes a bug where soldiers could get locked out of psi labs.
- Collector and Scavenger leaders will no longer accrue intel points/bonus loot for kills during the mission if they are mind-controlled, killed, off the map, etc.
- The command scope icon will no longer appear on missions you perform without a leader.
- Fixed CTD after player dismisses leader. Note that this will not prevent the final CTD in the Tactical Save in the current mission - the damage has already been done and we cannot undo it. If you have a leader-based CTD in the current mission, the workaround is to uninstall the mod and complete the mission, then reinstall and continue.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
