Need unified manager!!!
(and a few other things)
G0 G0 FALCOMPRO!
= The character pool is full, so I thought I'd upload my uniform pack for your enjoyment. I think unity packs are a better way to store/import custom soldiers than character pools.
The uniforms in this file only affect what soldiers wear. The man's face/hair/facial hair and all will not change when importing the uniform.
=There is no NMM version due to the installation method you will read shortly.
===Installation===
- Figure out how to enable the mod.
- Enable mods.
- Download and enable Unified Manager
3B. Download the mods I recommend to make sure these uniforms look correct.
- Download my uniform pack and set this file aside, we will need it later.
- Open your C: drive and navigate to...
C:\Users\SO-HUNG\Documents\my games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config (replace SO-HUNG with your personal username)
- Find the file called XComUniforms.ini it already exists, installed by the Uniform Manager mod. Make a backup copy of this file and open it in Notepad or anywhere else.
- Unzip and open my unity package file. Highlight everything inside, the whole sh-bang-a-bang. Copy this text from your Personal Uniforms Manager download into the XCmUniforms.ini file.
- Your xcomuniforms.ini file will contain some shit...
[Uniforms.UIUniforms]
bImportFaceVoiceGender = False
bPlayAnimateInDistortion = True
bPlayIdleDistortion = True
IdleDistortionAnimationLength = 1.000000
IdleDistortionGapMin = 5.000000
IdleDistortionGapMax = 10.000000
MaxIdleStrength = 0.030000
AnimateInDistortionTime = 0.500000
My file has the same content, but maybe you should play it safe and avoid copying that part. Just made sure nothing was selected when copying the contents of my file to the xcomuniforms.ini file on the hard drive.
- Save the file.
- Start xcom 2.
==============Recommended MODS ====================
====(Without these, my uniform would be missing pieces))========
================================================== ====
Unified Manager (just a reminder)
Accessory bag for CapnBub
custom headscarf
free hood
mass effect jack appearance pack
Red headband (and her Vasques)
Unlock all armor options
I love Thouse Ayys so much (for nfl helmets) [edit: not actually necessary]
=============================================== ==========
I have installed a few other mods that add cosmetic assets to the game. Since I don't actually use these assets for these uniforms, I haven't listed them as suggested. I think it will be fine, trust me. Please let me know if the uniforms look like a lot (missing pieces, displaying incorrectly, etc.) so I can add other mods to the list.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
