Primary weapon flamethrower as replacement squad support weapon vs. cannon/LMG

The primary weapon flamer mod serves as a replacement for the squad's support weapon's cannon. Currently designated as cannon, so any class that uses cannan should be able to use it. This weapon has a fairly short range to balance auto-hit and AO damage with the power of DoT...high risk, high reward, etc. It should be noted that most enemies have a detection radius greater than 5, which makes the weapons start to ambush (which also makes me sad). Weapons can't be overridden either... I'm not sure what will happen if I drop it and may patch it later. Currently I don't think it's possible to override to maintain balance.

Astute players may realize that the Elerium Flamer is not a Strait upgrade of the Heavy Flamer. The Elerium Flamer is short range and lower DoT, but has a wider AoE, extra tear and front damage, and the ability to upgrade 4 times. In contrast, the Heavy Flamer has long range, higher DoT, but is very narrow, has no debris, less front-end damage, and only has 3 upgrade slots. This is intentional. This way while Elerium Flamer is still an upgrade, I wish it were more of a diagonal rise rather than better in every way....only the humble Flamer becomes obsolete in theory...if I can make it competitive with others without making OP early games I'm totally up for it.

Current statistics:

Flamer:Damage = 2,Spread = 1,Pierce = 2,Template Range = 5,Template End Width = 5,Clip Size = 2,Upgrades = 2,DoT =(2,1)

Heavy Flamer: Damage = 4, Spread = 1, Pierce = 4, Template Range = 15, Template End Width = 3, Clip Size = 2, Upgrade = 3, DoT = (4,1)

Elerium Flamer: Damage = 6, Spread = 1, Pierce = 4, Shred = 2, Template Range = 10, Template End Width = 7, Clip Size = 2, Upgrade = 4, DoT = (3,1)

Weapon stats* should be editable in .ini files.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
