About this mod Machine translation
This mod adds 6 additional dark events to the game.
I personally really liked the concept of Dark Events, it really wasn't enough for me. So - more to come! You can also customize the mod by editing the ini file, which you can find here: %STEAM_FOLDER%/steamapps/workshop/content/268500/652169373/Config/XComDarkEvents.ini. Feel free to turn on or off activities you like or dislike. All of these are turned on by default.
I tried to have them tweak your gameplay experience in more subtle ways, like the original Dark Events. They shouldn't be too unbalanced either, I played a campaign with them on Ironman Legends for a few months without too much trouble.
Note: Unfortunately, you need to launch a new game for this mod to take effect.
This mod does not override any classes and should be compatible with any other mod (unless they override something important :)).
===============================
Dark event list:
Advanced firewall. The hacker's skill score and all other operators suffer a penalty of +20 - +3.
Integrated communications. All ADVENT soldiers receive the Squadsight perk. Sometimes, they still prefer to get closer to increasing their goals. Please note: There is also a permanent version of this event.
Broken Protocol: Avenger's scan time has been slowed down by twice.
Security vulnerability: Reduces current research speed by 30%.
Weapon Enhancements: ADVENT soldiers will receive random advanced weapon upgrades in the tactical realm. The list includes: scopes, laser sights, triggers, extended magazines and autoloaders. There are no inventories or repeaters, which is brutal. They will not give it up even after they die.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
