A collection of facepaints and tattoos to complement your XCOM 2 experience.
facepaints in alphabetical order: Cheetah Facepaint with Leopard Spot Tattoo: Cheetahs’ faces are cool but their spots are boring. Leopard faces are boring, but their spots are cool. Why not take full advantage of both?
Cortana: Cortana is actually very, very difficult to get right. I still don't think she's as good as I could be - she looks like she's wearing a colorful burlap bag over her face. But this is the best I can do without animated textures. Cortana is owned by Microsoft, poor thing. Works with any Cortana voice pack available on Steam Workshop.
Death comes in many forms (see what I did there?). Just eyeliner, eyeliner with facepaint, eyeliner with skull face pencil. So far my daughter's guinea pig is alive so I hope the cause of death is happy with the outcome. Oh, and she has an Ankh tattoo.
Futurist: I fully expect you all to cringe from this gimmicky monstrosity and demand its removal. I tried to do some cyberpunk, Deus-Exy.
Luxur: I’ve always had this idea inspired by ancient Egyptian makeup.
GLaDOS: I love this character (I like to think of her as SHODAN's little sister) and have often thought of designing a humanoid version of her. The earlier design was a little too clownish; this is much cleaner and restrained, and I feel like her character and design are very representative. GlaDOS voice pack for Walker Texas Ranger, available for download on Steam Workshop. Valve owns the GlaDOS and Aperture Science logos.
PSI Warriors: Another original weirdo, utilizing some of Obsidian Dawn’s Arcane Circle Photoshop brushes. More of Obsidian Dawn's great brushes can be found here: http:
//www.obsidiandawn.com/ SHODAN: Ah, SHODAN. I love her unreservedly and unapologetically. This facepaint was carefully handmade by me, using only old System Shock 2 wallpapers as reference. Works great with my SHODAN voice pack, available here: http://www.xcom2/mods/419/? Includes two Tri.Optimum tattoos, logo plate and sleeve. I chose XCOM 2's native sleeves to assist with the latter and used BrushEezy's Iron Man brushes, which can be found here: http://www.brusheezy.com/brushes/18478-iron-man-brushes. SHODAN was created by Looking Glass Studios, now owned by Otherside Entertainment and Night Dive Studios. (Who else is looking forward to System Shock 3? F**k yeah!)
SIRIUS: Inspired by an old comic series called "Six From Sirius" with Doug Moench and Paul Gulacy if memory serves, and published by Epic Comics.
SPHINX: Based on a character called Rrliss from my own indie comic book Preyground, which you can see more of here: http://moriadat.deviantart.com/gallery/8327034/Preyground-webcomic Like the Grim Reaper, she wears an eyeliner - the only version.
TIGER and ZEBRA are both very self-explanatory and come with striped tattoos.
New features in update 1.1 (final version)
MINSC: Facial tattoo for Minsc, the charming ranger from the Baldur's Gate series, to complement the voice pack already available on Steam Workshop.
DOOMSDAY WARRIOR: Mad Max style facepaint using one of the LongQuattro tire tread patterns.
WAR BOY: My daughter's suggestion - War Boy from Mad Max: Fury Road.
AZTECH: The recurring marriage of Tron design aesthetics and Aztec culture.
PSI WARRIOR SUITE: I feel like I got more to say about the concept and explored it more fully using more of Obsidian Dawn's Arcane Circle Brushes. I should probably separate them into their own little face models, but leave it at that.
CORTANA v2.0 and SHODAN v2.0: Just a small experiment, trying to restore the original 'human skin conjoined' concept. Cortana's skin looks artificial; SHODAN is meant to look real, with bruises, jaundice and edge growth, green lights flashing here and there. She spends half of System Shock 2 discussing how disgusting human flesh is, so if she had to wear it, she'd be unlikely to care for it.
As always, if anyone has any good ideas, I'd love to chime in. Suggestions for i …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
