About this mod Machine translation
Commander's Choice lets you change the class of any class to any other class from the Armory main menu.
Commander's Choice allows you to set up any rookie ready to advance to Squaddie.
A button has been added to the Armory Soldier main menu. By default, Commander's Choice replaces the Novice's "Upgrade" button in the Armory and disables the Novice's "Promote" button on the After Action screen. This behavior can be customized in the ini.
The Commander's Choice button is only available to newbies who have won a prize but have not yet received a promotion.
Due to lore and mechanical reasons, PsiOps and Spark classes cannot be changed. These classes do not display the button. Any other class, including custom classes (as shown in the screenshot), can be changed to .
ini options: -
Hide promotion button for rookies on armory screen? Default value: True -
Hide boost button for newbies on After Action screen? Default value: False -
Disable newbie's boost button on After Action screen? Default value: True
Warning: If you promote Novice instead of Armory Commander from the After Action screen the selection will be bypassed. This is why Button is disabled by default for Rookies.
There are a few minor issues with the UI:
- You may have to click twice on the Selected class
- The time for 0 Days is a menu type artifact and I can't hide it (or haven't figured out how)
- No cancel/return button (can't figure this out), use the Esc key or select the class the soldier is already in (this aborts the operation)
- The tooltip for Commander's Choice may be the Dismiss tooltip, don't worry it won't dismiss your soldiers.
-The Commander's Choice button does not currently work with controllers.
Fully compatible with Long War 2!
This mod has no class overrides and should be compatible with most mods.
- This mod should be compatible with any mod class override.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
