About this mod Machine translation

Randomize blast timers and increase the chance of XCOM Operators bleeding out instead of dying outright when they reach 0 HP, especially for lower ranked soldiers. Report abuse

Randomize the bleed timer and increase the chance of XCOM operators bleeding when they reach 0 hp, rather than dying outright, especially for lower ranked soldiers.

Vanilla XCOM Bleedout Chances: (does not level up with level):

50 Will and below: 0% chance of bleeding.

+1% bleed chance per power above 50.

4-turn Bleedout timer.

(Upgraded with Stay With Me):

50 Wel and below: 0% chance of bleeding.

+2% bleed chance per power above 50.

4-turn Bleedout timer.

Note that the base Willpower of all XCOM soldiers on all but the lowest difficulty is 40, so this means that in the vanilla game, newbies, Squaddies, and even some Corporals are physically unable to bleed, and will die instantly 100% of the time, even with Stay With Me.

Modified bleeding chance: (does not upgrade with level):

The base chance of Bleedout is 25%.

+0.50% Chance of bleeding each time is 0.

3-5 turns bleeding timer.

(Upgraded with Stay With Me):

The base chance of Bleedout is 33.3%.

+0.67% higher chance of bleeding per bleed than

0.4-6 switch bleeding timer.

Please note that both the vanilla game and this mod will grant 100 Will Will with Me With at 100% Bleedout.

Yes, this actually makes the game slightly easier, especially early game. Intended to be used with model Insanity difficulty games to make them more tolerable and/or reduce the urge to save the scum.

Bleedout timers and opportunities are fully customizable via the included XComBleedOutMod.ini and XComGameCore.ini configuration files.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
