About this mod Machine translation
This mod adds the Ammo Belt utility item. Any soldier equipped with it can spend an action to reload a nearby gunner's cannon.
This allows you to keep the gunner on offense by sacrificing another soldier's action, essentially creating a machine gun crew. This is especially important for Long War 2, since ability-based gunners have to reload almost every time.
Ammo Belts campaigns are free and automatically added to existing campaigns.
CONFIGURATION
By default, Ammo Belt:
- There are unlimited fees.
- No cooldown time.
- Don't end it.
- Cannot be used when disoriented.
- LW2 style mobility penalty is 1.
- Can only target LW2 Gunners and Vanilla Grenadiers.
All this can be configured in "Config\XComAmmoBelt.ini".
Non-configurable settings:
- Cannot be used while burning.
- 1 watt range.
compatibility
This mod should be compatible with almost everything. It was made with the Long War 2 Gunner, but it will also work with the Grenadier in vanilla XCOM 2, you can edit "XComAmmoBelt.ini" to be able to target all classes with it. Ammo Belt works by reloading the primary weapon, so it can also be used with any modal weapon.
If you are using this with vanilla, make sure to disable mobility penalties in the "XComAmmoBelt.ini" file.
KNOWN ISSUES
- Mobility penalties are not displayed in the loading UI.
- Several Ammo Belts can be equipped at the same time, but they will have separate cooldown times and costs.
- Can be used even if the target already has full ammo.
- Ability descriptions always mention Gunner, even when used on other classes.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
