About this mod Machine translation

Content introduction:

Independent .exe program for handling wares.xml, content.xml and language file operations. No administrator rights are required.

When the program is run for the first time, it will create a folder called "Mjs Mod Assistant" in the /user/Documents folder. Within this folder will be another folder called "bin". There will be a file called "settings.xml". Please do not edit this file unless you know what you are doing.

When you run the program, you will see a small window with some options and text boxes. (See picture "Login screen"). To begin this process, go to the Main tab (see "Tab_Main") and go to "New Content File". You will see a new window with some text boxes and 2 buttons. Ignore "Edit content files" for now.

Content file creation

Go ahead and fill in all text boxes as needed, then click "New Content File." Continue back to your Files/Mj's Mod Assistant folder and inside, you will see your Mod folder with the name you chose for your mod. Once this is done, you can start creating other files included in the program.

Edit content file

To edit a content file, return to the New Content File window and select the Edit Content File button at the top. Select your content.xml file and edit it to your liking. Once completed, select the "New Content File" button.

Wares.xml file creation

To create merchandise for your mod, go to Main/New Library File and click on the merchandise button. (See "Tab_NewLibraryFiles"). First, you can only select the "Add" radial button. This is on purpose because the program runs a simple check to see if the wares.xml file exists. Now fill in your new items with whatever you like. If you need more than 3 items to create it, click the "4" or "5" radial button to change the required item quantity. You will also see that the Primary Ware text box has a drop-down list. The dropdown has added all vanilla items to the box. Just select one to use. Currently, only Group, Transport, and Method are set to add drop-down boxes for items. Now you have to manually add the T file name and description number along with the method ID name, job type/effect and label. Once completed, click Create Wares.xml file. You will see a small message box stating that the file has been created. You can add more if you like, otherwise exit the window.

Edit Wares in the Wares.xml file

To edit an item, go back to the Main/New Library File/Item button and you will see the same window as before, but now you can also select the "Replace" and "Delete" buttons. To edit an item, select the "Replace" button. This will display some additional items on the window. (See "Wares_Replace"). Go to the dropdown box to the right of the "Parse Node" button and select the item you want to edit. When finished, click the button. The text box will automatically populate with information from the item. If the item has more than 3 items to make, be sure to select the appropriate item quantity radial button, otherwise you may not see all the information. Once you've edited it to your liking, click the Edit Tools button. That's it.

Language file creation

To create a language file and then a T-file entry, go to Main/New T File (see "Tab_NewTFile")

On the screen you will see some radial buttons in the Options box. If you want to make a new file, select "Add New T-File" and fill in your information. The drop-down box is used to select the language ID of the production file. (44, 45, 88, etc.). Once done, select the "Create Language File" button. You will also need to use this area in the language file for the new page ID. Once completed, select the "Add T ID Entry" button to continue.

T ID and new text entry

First, select the language ID in the drop-down box (44, 45, 88, etc.) and then fill in the remaining text boxes to continue. If you happen to reuse the same page ID for multiple ID entries, the program will check if the ID entry has already been used. If not, it adds it to the language file. Keep adding as many people as poss …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
