About this mod Machine translation

Each controlled NPC player has the opportunity to improve his skills every hour, up to a maximum of 1 star.

V0.5: Added $jobFitting option that can be enabled in mod files. It limits the skills that npcs can use to gain passive experience of npcs core/character skills. Disabled by default, needs to be enabled.

The Npcs seemed a little slow to my liking, so I gave them something useful to learn more about.

Each player controlling an NPC has a chance to improve their skill by 1 point every 20 minutes (not a star).

1 star equals 3 points, so the maximum number of points required for 5 stars is 15.

You can adjust the odds and points added in the modfile yourself in learnallthethings/md/learningallthethings.xml.

The standard is 1 point (not a star) every 20 minutes with a 30% chance. You can also set whether you want your NPCs to gain experience for all skills, or just the skills needed to fit their role.

The method used to apply passive experience does not interfere with gameplay and the way experience is applied to the crew, and therefore does not cause any disruption to their normal skill behavior.

NOTE: While ships are docked at the station, they will not gain any experience. I was asked not to change this as the crew should not be gaining experience while they are drowning their sorrows in the station.

Install:

Download the file, unzip the learningallthethings folder and move it to the extensions folder.

If you don't have one yet, just create it in your X4's base directory, so for Steam users it will be: Steam\steamapps\common\X4 Foundations\extensions

uninstall:

Just delete the folder, no savegame issues.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
