Fixed questionable logic of enemy ship salvage
The original logic of ship rescue included some, well-intentioned, odd decisions. I modified these to make more sense.
- Ships under fire will start bailing at 75% hull integrity. This has been changed to 50%.
- Severe penalty for flying hulls having their maximum hull higher than the target. This has been corrected to penalize you for using smaller ships, but I might just remove it entirely. Even within the same class, fines can be steep.
- Completely removed logic that would cause random damage or destruction to a ship when a pilot bails. With fast-firing weapons like transoms (or models that increase the fire rate of everything), this can make it impossible to successfully capture a protected ship, since you'd just have to blow it up immediately.
- This does not affect pilots of L or XL ships; only S and M class ships can be forced to bail. L and XL must board.

Just delete the fixbailchance folder
Notice
You can easily change the bail threshold and baseline bail chances in the Notifications.xml file. For thresholds, you only need to change these two values:
$ target.shieldpercentage lt 20
$ target.hullpercentage lt 50
For base bail chance, you just change the "46" in this line:
<set_value name =“$ ejectchance”exact =“((46 -......
This is a percentage value, so 80% would give the target an unmodified chance of 80%. Values over 100 do work, a value of 1000 will more or less guarantee all bails even if you are flying the smallest ship and die. Also note that a >= 100% chance of bailing does not guarantee that the pilot will bail; if you can bail while the remaining crew is available (unlikely, but possible, especially if using modules to increase the crew, since only 3 people can bail at a time), the pilot will disembark with the ship.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
