About this mod Machine translation
Added Venture reward paint job to traders.
Minor changes from the original 1.2 update:
If you recently downloaded version 1.2, download it again and delete the paintmodsforsale directory from the extensions folder before unzipping the mod. The new update packages the mod in an ext_01.cat file to make updating easier on end users. New users do not need to do this.
Traders will no longer carry paint mods in their general inventory, instead they will have a new menu called paint mods. Said menu only shows paint models, which helps reduce inventory clutter. Side note, Trader needs to be reinitialized in order for changes to reflect your game. This means, you need to go to different stations to see the changes.
1.2 update:
It seems Egosoft intends to use the Venture system to distribute paint jobs. Since people who want the feeling of accomplishment associated with a paint job might give them a pass there, I've removed the price adjustment starting with the 1.2 update. If you are updating from an earlier version, you can delete the wares.xml file in the paintjobsforsale/libraries folder to revert the price of paint jobs to 1 credit each.
Note: Newly added paint jobs can be found under the Media section. They apply to the Furies rather than Mercury.
This is as untested as any other mod. Back up your save files before applying any mods. I am not responsible for lost profits or anything else.
Mod changes the price of paint models to give players a sense of accomplishment when purchasing a paint job. If you are not happy with this, please delete the wares.xml file from the mod to revert to the original prices. Initially all paint models only cost 1 credit.
Installation instructions:
Create a folder called extensions in the same directory as the X4.exe file.
Place the mod folder under the extensions directory.
Traders need to re-initialize their inventories. If you are already at a station with a property owner, you will need to go to a different station.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
