ZenUI

Helpful UI additions.

  • Improved Crafting Panel. Visual organization with grouping, sorting, and searching. (Multicraft: hold Shift for 5x)
  • Tooltip summary icons show at-a-glance details for attack, defense, magic, food, and more. Quick summary of total stack weight, movement speed penalties, and description in an easy-to-read format. Press and hold the hotkey for full details at any time.
  • Equipped items can be configured to occupy designated positions in your inventory grid. When they are equipped, they will move to the assigned slot. This helps you keep organized by separating your equipped gear from your cargo without expanding your inventory size.
  • Hide status effect icons from the UI.
  • Disable auto-capitalization of shouts in chat messages.
  • Remove lens dirt! Clear view of the game world.
  • Item level is displayed with symbols instead of a number, no item level limit if you use mods to alter the limit.
  • Colored durability bars, configurable.
  • Ammo remaining displayed on the hotbar
  • Biome notifications when spawning or teleporting and other key moments.
  • Auto open the skills panel.
  • Disable sliding animations.
  • Adjust default inventory size.
  • Colored food bars based on the food you ate: Health, Stamina, Eitr, or Balanced.
  • Take All button has three states: Take stacks, Take weight, Take all
  • Dropping items drops them in the direction of the camera, not your character's direction.
  • Pressing the "Place Stacks" button in the inventory combines all the stacks in the container.
  • When stacking items, it ignores your hotbar.
  • First-person camera.
  • System clock local time displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen (optional).

Client / Server Requirements

NOTE: Technically it is not required on the server. However, if it is installed on the server then it will force all clients to have it installed as well. This is to enable two modes of usage:

  • Dedicated server admins can put the mod on the server to enforce all clients to have the mod installed and sync admin configs.
  • Trusted friends can agree to run the same mods and connect through a vanilla dedicated server with no enforcement but with locked admin configs.

Client Only

This mod operates entirely client side. That means you can connect to any vanilla server with this mod installed. Other players do not need to have the mod installed.

NOTE: If you host a game session with this mod installed, then it will be considered to be installed on the server since your session is the server. Therefore, all clients will be required to have it. If you don't want to require all players to have this mod, then you will need to host your game in a dedicated server. You can download and run the Valheim Dedicated Server from Steam or host one in the cloud.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
