You're Cold
Part of the Scavengers Survival Series for Valheim.
You're Cold makes exposure matter. The goal is not constant punishment; it is to make fire, shelter, dry clothing, daylight, and sensible travel feel valuable.
Latest update — V1.1.7
Fixed Temperture bar issue where all was heating. Removed blood trail Crimson Blood now handles all blood.
Controls
- F9 — Write diagnostics to BepInEx/LogOutput.log.
- F10 — Toggle the cold system for the current session.
- Ctrl + F3 — Hide or restore the mod HUD along with Valheim's HUD toggle.
Configuration
- General > Enabled turns the cold system and its penalties on or off.
- HUD > ShowTemperatureBar hides only the Body Temp HUD.
- HUD > HideHudWithCtrlF3 controls whether Ctrl + F3 hides this HUD.
- Audio, temperature rates, biome effects, shelter effects, and penalties can all be adjusted.
Installation
- Install through r2modman, or install BepInExPack for Valheim manually.
- Place YoureCold.dll in BepInEx/plugins/YoureCold.
- Place cold breath.mp3 in BepInEx/plugins/YoureCold/assets/audio/ when using the included low-temperature warning.
- Launch Valheim once to create the config file.
Multiplayer
Use the same version for the people playing together so everyone is playing under the same survival rules.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
