Xpert's Drone Cam
The DroneCam allows you to join a multiplayer game as a drone, flying around, following, orbiting, and tracking a player or enemy. It works with un-modded, vanilla servers and MP games as well as modded ones. You simply join the game, enable the drone cam and then become an omnipotent spectator. Handy for tracking the Valheim action from a completely independent vantage point.
Built for Xpert Malfunction and shared to the community.
Requirements
- BepInEx 5.x
- Valheim (Unity 6 build)
Installation
Place XpertsDroneCam.dll in your BepInEx/plugins/ folder. If you are using the Spout or NDI streaming features, see the Streaming section below.
Overview
When the drone cam is active your character becomes invisible to other players, is protected from damage, and does not count toward enemy difficulty scaling. You can fly freely around the world, follow a specific player from behind, orbit a player or point of interest, or set up a fixed security camera that tracks a moving target.
If the player you are targeting goes through a portal to a distant part of the map, the drone will automatically teleport to follow them.
Commands can be entered in two ways:
- In-game console type dc followed by a subcommand, e.g. dc follow player Xmal
- Chat window type /dc followed by the same subcommand, e.g. /dc follow player Xmal
Player names that contain spaces must be wrapped in quotes in both the console and chat, e.g. dc follow player "Big Viking".

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
