About this mod Author’s original text

WorldSavePlus

Save a dedicated Valheim world from the ESC menu with a clear Save Server / Salvar Server button — separate from vanilla Save.

Built for Valheim 1.0 + BepInEx.

Support: ko-fi.com/tudoecriativo

Why

On dedicated servers it is unclear whether ESC Save affects the world or only the character.

WorldSavePlus adds an explicit Save Server entry that asks the dedicated server to write the world now, with a simple permission policy and a global cooldown.

Vanilla Save is left unchanged.

How to use

  • Install the mod on the dedicated server and on your game client
  • Join the server
  • Press ESC
  • Click Save Server (English) / Salvar Server (Portuguese)
  • Wait for the confirmation toast (or cooldown / permission message)

Hotkey (optional): F6 by default (client config).

| Action | Default |

|---|---|

| ESC button | Save Server / Salvar Server |

| Hotkey | F6 |

| Global cooldown | 30 seconds |

The button is hidden in singleplayer (vanilla Save already covers the local world).

Install

Both sides matter:

| Where | Required? | Why |

|---|---|---|

| Dedicated server | Yes | Enforces permissions, cooldown, and runs the world save |

| Client | Yes | ESC button, hotkey, and localized toasts |

Steps

  • Install BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2350 or newer
  • Install WorldSavePlus (r2modman Mod Manager, or copy plugins/WorldSavePlus.dll into BepInEx/plugins)
  • Restart the server, then the client

Permissions

Server config file (created on first run):

BepInEx/config/poneis.valheim.WorldSavePlus.cfg

| AllowEveryone | adminlist.txt | Who can save |

|---|---|---|

| true | any | Everyone connected |

| false (default) | has player IDs | Only listed admins |

| false | empty | Nobody |

Recommended setups

  • Private friends server: set AllowEveryone = true
  • Public / shared server: keep AllowEveryone = false and put admin Platform User IDs in adminlist.txt

Platform User IDs come from the in-game F2 panel or the server log ([Platform]_[UserID]).

Configuration

Server (Permissions)

| Key | Default | Description |

|---|---|---|

| AllowEveryone | false | If true, any player may request a server world save |

| CooldownSeconds | 30 | Global cooldown after an accepted client save (5–300) |

Client

| Key | Default | Description |

|---|---|---|

| EnableHotkey | true | Allow hotkey save requests |

| Hotkey | F6 | Key to request a server world save (None to disable) |

| Language | Auto | Auto, English, or Portuguese |

Features

  • Dedicated ESC button: Save Server / Salvar Server
  • Optional hotkey (F6)
  • Server-side permission check (AllowEveryone or adminlist.txt)
  • Global cooldown (default 30s)
  • Toast + console feedback (EN/PT)
  • Does not replace vanilla ESC Save
  • Autosaves on the dedicated server are unchanged

Notes

  • Only client-originated save requests use this mod’s permission + cooldown rules
  • Server-local / automatic saves keep vanilla behaviour
  • If the server does not have WorldSavePlus installed, the client button cannot enforce the custom policy / reliable dedicated save flow

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
