WiresHealthAwareness

v0.3.6·Updated 2026-10-10

An overengineered health awareness mod.

About this mod Author’s original text

An overengineered health and damage awareness mod.

Features:

  • Damage vignette: a (short burst) red vignette that appears when you take damage. Stronger hits, stronger vignette. Unaffected by most DoT status effects.
  • Note: this mod disables vanilla damage overlay blood texture, for visual consistency.
  • Health vignette: a (pulsating, persistent) red vignette that gets stronger closer to death. Starts at 85% by default.
  • Heartbeat: a heartbeat sound loop, BPM fluctuates to improve realism. Lower health, faster BPM and louder. BPM spikes with large hits, damage streaks and getting staggered. My attempt at simulating the impact of stress and damage on the heart. Starts at 65% by default.
  • has a reasonably extensive config for all the things you'd wanna configure.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
