Wings Of The Forgotten Gods
Forgotten powers have left more than ruins behind. Craft living wings, master the open sky, and carry the gifts — and curses — of ancient beings across the Tenth World.
Wings of Hraesvelgr
A gift from the great eagle who waits at the edge of heaven. Black, ivory and golden feathers remember the winds between worlds, lending their bearer speed and mastery of the open sky.
- Grants flight and prevents all fall damage.
- Preserves 80% of combat stamina while gliding or climbing.
- A following wind carries you faster.
- A mighty wingbeat casts lesser foes aside.
- Crafted at a level 1 Workbench from 50 Feathers, 50 Bone Fragments and 10 Resin.
Crimson Tar Wings
Born from the blood of the fallen and the living tar of ancient beasts. Beneath their black skin something hungry still stirs, yearning for the open sky.
- Grants flight and prevents all fall damage.
- Tar-born creatures recognize one of their own.
- Living tar no longer binds your limbs.
- Leech-blood restores life in close combat.
- Crafted at a level 1 Workbench from 50 Tar, 50 Bloodbags and 20 Bone Fragments.
Controls
- Hold Jump through the peak of a ground jump to take off. Hold it in the air to keep climbing; it also powers escape from water.
- Press Jump while airborne to open the wings and glide. A long fall opens them automatically.
- Hold Run in the air to enter powered flight; release it to return to a glide.
- Hold Forward during powered flight for accelerating wingbeats.
- Hold Jump to pitch upward and trade speed for height; hold Backward to dive.
- Use Left and Right to bank and turn.
Keyboard and gamepad use Valheim's configured movement, jump and run bindings. Server owners control gameplay balance through the synchronized BepInEx configuration; camera settings remain local.
Installation
Mod Manager
Install Wings Of The Forgotten Gods and its dependencies. Keep the same mod version on the server and every connecting client.
Manual
- Install BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2350 or newer.
- Install Jotunn 2.30.0 or newer.
- Remove any older HraesvelgrWings.dll and its matching old asset bundle before upgrading.
- Extract the release archive into BepInEx/plugins/WingsOfTheForgottenGods.
- Confirm that WingsOfTheForgottenGods.dll and the wingsoftheforgottengods asset bundle are beside each other.
The mod is required on both the server and every client in multiplayer. Item names, descriptions and effects support all 36 base Valheim languages.

Combat wings and defensive wings are planned. More forgotten powers will follow.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
