Wearable Torches (Valheim)
Because nights are too dark in Valheim and why not put a real light on your back?
A lightweight cosmetic mod that allows you to wear a torch on your back, using the same G key when torch in hand.
Fully client-side but network-synced: other players with the mod installed will see your torch.
Features
- Press G to toggle the torch when in hand.
- Uses the real torch mesh (and works with all items whose name contains “torch”, e.g. TorchMist)
- Fire FX cloned from your equipped torch
- Custom warm point light on the back torch
- Fully safe for multiplayer (no extra items created or dropped)
- Purely visual: no additional ZNetView / ItemDrop instances are spawned
- No loot spawned on reconnect
Multiplayer
- Torch state (enabled/disabled on the back) is synced using ZNetView / ZDO
- Only visual objects are created locally on each client
- Other clients must have the mod installed to see your back torch
Installation
- Install BepInExPack for Valheim
- Drop WearableTorches.dll into a folder inside BepInEx/plugins
Or install in on R2ModMan:)

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
