About this mod Author’s original text
This mod is no longer being supported until Valheim builds some mod support or takes a stance acknowledging or supporting mods. In the meantime feel free to fork the code and use it or re-upload it.
MOD Description
Valheim Brawler is a mod that makes use of the underdeveloped unarmed skill. It adds 6 new tiers of weapons:
- Wood sprig
- Studded knuckles
- Bronze cestus
- Iron cestus
- Silver cestus
- Black metal cestus
and one supporting recipe:
- Iron chain
The long-term goal of the mod is to provide additional armors, consumables, and even animations to support a more visceral brawler-like playthrough.
Installation
- Go to BepInExPack Valheim
- Download it and follow the installation manual
- Drag the unzipped Valheim Brawler folder into -> \steamapps\common\Valheim\BepInEx\plugin
The next time you start your game, the mod will be enabled. To disable it, just remove it from the mods folder.
Usage
Recipes should appear in game through normal play. If you are installing this mod on an existing playthrough, you will have to pick up items or re-order you inventory to learn the new recipes.
Caveats and Warnings
- This is an Alpha mod, and you are helping to playtest it.
- If the mod is disabled and the game is loaded all modded items will be lost. This is a limitation of the save/load pipeline included in the game. If this happens you can easily re-enable the mod and use the spawn command to regain your items.
Prefab names:
- WoodKnuckles
- StuddedKnuckles
- BronzeCestus
- IronCestus
- SilverCestus
- BlackMetalCestus

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
