Eir
Repairs mods that no longer work properly, while the game runs, without touching their files. Covers Weedheim, SecondChance and Basements.
About this mod Author’s original text
Eir
Mods get outdated. Eir repairs those mods while the game is running, without touching any of
their files, so we can keep playing them.
There is nothing to open, no key to press and nothing on screen. Install it and it works.
What It Covers
Weedheim, which needs a hand to run properly on Valheim 1.0. With Eir installed:
- Joints, the bong, mushrooms and the CBD potion all work
- The screen effects show up while you are stoned or tripping
- No more stutter when you spawn, die, respawn or teleport
- One smoke at a time, so you cannot run every strain's buff at once
- Loki's Special Blend needs the Magical Bong in hand, the way it was meant to
- A strain's damage bonus actually applies to your attacks, and shows on the item
SecondChance, where being revived left you unable to heal. With Eir installed:
- Being revived no longer gives you resurrection sickness, so food heals you again
- You still cannot be revived twice in a row, exactly as before
Basements, which had no floor or ceiling on a dedicated server. With Eir installed:
- A basement has its floor, ceiling and walls again
Single player was never affected, so this only matters if you play on a server.
More mods will be added here as they need it.
Tweaks
Separate from the fixes, Eir carries a few settings that change how a mod plays to suit our
server rather than repair anything. They are in their own section of the settings so the two do
not get mixed up, and each one can be turned off on its own.
- A Pothead skill that levels as you smoke. Every high lasts longer as it rises, up to twice
as long at 100. It is a slow climb: you can only have one high running at a time, and the
longer they get the longer the wait between them
- What Loki charges for his Special Blend, 100 coins by default
- The CBD potion clears the screen effects but leaves your buff running
- No resurrection sickness when SecondChance revives you. You can keep the icon as a plain
countdown instead, if you would rather see how long until the next revive
Fixes Are Removed When They Are Not Needed
A fix stays only as long as it is needed. Once a mod is updated and no longer needs the help, its
fix is removed. If that empties Eir out, it is done and you can uninstall it.
Eir also checks the version of anything it touches, and leaves a mod alone if it has moved on to
something Eir was not built for.
You Do Not Need The Mods It Covers
Eir needs nothing but BepInEx. Anything aimed at a mod you do not have simply does nothing, and
installing Eir will never pull another mod in with it.
Settings
BepInEx/config/gbv.valheim.eir.cfg, or the Configuration Manager in game. Changes take effect

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
