A cap on creature stars, with an optional wait before 2-star spawns. ⭐
What it does
When a creature's level is set, its stars stop at the cap. Creatures already in the world keep the stars they have until their level is set again.
World level, health, and damage stay on their own rules. This mod only caps the star count used at that moment.
Config
BepInEx/config/com.frizzqol.mobcap.cfg
| Setting | Default | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| MaxStars | 2 | Most stars a new creature can have once 2 stars are allowed. 2 is the normal Valheim maximum. |
| TwoStarsAfterDay | 0 | 2-star creatures cannot appear before this day. 0 allows them from day 0. Example: 100 blocks 2 stars on days 0 through 99. |

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
