About this mod Author’s original text

Turrets Redo

Adds modular ballista turret improvements inspired by Valheim Plus. Features are organized into independently configurable modules:

General

  • Overall mod enable/disable toggle.
  • Optional server authority through ConditionalConfigSync. When enabled, the server configuration controls gameplay settings for connected clients.

Turret behavior

  • Turn speed adjustment as a percentage of the vanilla value.
  • Projectile speed adjustment as a percentage of the vanilla value.
  • View distance adjustment as a percentage of the vanilla value.
  • Attack rate adjustment. 0 is vanilla, 100 fires twice as fast, and higher values continue increasing the firing rate.
  • Configurable horizontal aim angle. Vanilla is 25 degrees on each side.
  • Configurable vertical aim angle. Vanilla is 20 degrees above and below.

Accuracy and targeting

  • Lead shots against moving targets using target position, collider center, movement velocity, and projectile speed.
  • Option to remove vanilla projectile spread completely.
  • When vanilla spread is enabled, spread is compensated for the configured view distance.
  • Ignore players when selecting targets.
  • Ignore tamed creatures when selecting targets.
  • Ignore friendly Dvergr when selecting targets. Dvergr hostile to at least one player remain targetable.
  • Optional projectile immunity for identities ignored by the targeting settings. This protects ignored players, tames, and friendly Dvergr from accidental turret hits.

Ammo and collision

  • Infinite ammo mode. Turrets continue firing with one loaded missile and drop one missile when destroyed.
  • Turret missiles do not collide with the turret that fired them.

Requirements

  • BepInExPack Valheim, any compatible version

Install the packaged ZIP through a -compatible mod manager. The plugin is placed at BepInEx/plugins/TurretsRedo/TurretsRedo.dll.

An example configuration is available in TurretsRedo.cfg.example. Copy its contents into BepInEx/config/MrGay.TurretsRedo.cfg after installing the mod.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
