About this mod Author’s original text

The Transporter

A steam wagon that follows you, hauls cargo, and keeps a driver in the seat. It climbs with the ground, burns coal or wood from its own boiler, and lights the road when you want it to.

Features

  • Follows you or stays parked. Front wheels steer, and the wheels roll with the wagon's speed.
  • 32-slot cargo hold.
  • Separate boiler. Coal, wood, and surtling cores feed it. Smoke on the stack thickens while it is moving.
  • Amber headlights and a tail lamp. Auto while the boiler has fuel, or force them off or always on.
  • Seated driver with head tracking and courier lines.
  • Live tuning page at

Controls

  • E — open the cargo hold.
  • Shift+E — open the boiler.
  • V — follow or stay. Works while you are near the wagon.
  • Alt+L — cycle the lamps: Auto, Off, Always on.
  • Use coal, wood, or a surtling core on the wagon to stow one piece in the boiler.

Build it from the Hammer, in the DFG category. The default cost is 20 Fine Wood, 10 Bronze Nails, 4 Deer Hide, and 1 Surtling Core.

Configuration

BepInEx/config/com.dfg.transporter.cfg

More driving, fuel, and HUD values live in transporter_config.json beside the plugin, and on the web page.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
