ToolLock
Prevents certain build tools from being used when an enemy is nearby, sees the player, or hears the player.
By default, all three tools are restricted by nearby detection and Seen detection.
This mod combines the functionality of ToolLockWhenSeen and ToolLockWhenEnemyNearby into a single mod, with additional configuration options.
Tools
- Hammer
- Hoe
- Cultivator
Each tool can be enabled or disabled separately.
Detection
- Nearby – an enemy is within the configured detection distance.
- Seen – player is sensed by an enemy.
- Heard – player is targeted by an enemy.
Each detection type can be enabled or disabled separately.
The default detection distance is 20 metres.
Config
Each tool has:
- Enabled – turns the detection restrictions on or off
- NearbyBlockedMessage – message shown when blocked while an enemy is nearby
- SeenBlockedMessage – message shown when blocked while seen
- HeardBlockedMessage – message shown when blocked while heard
Detection settings:
- DetectionDistance – distance at which enemies will prevent tool use
- RestrictWhenNearby – enables the Nearby restriction
- RestrictWhenSeen – enables the Seen restriction
- RestrictWhenHeard – enables the Heard restriction
Disable
Each tool can also be disabled entirely.
- DisableHammer
- DisableHoe
- DisableCultivator
Each has its own customizable message.
Disabling a tool takes priority over all detection restrictions.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
