TerrainRamp
Build persistent multiplayer earth ramps from three points with terrain-grid preview, road profiles, one-sided width, and endpoint terrain fitting.

Terrain Ramp
Terrain Ramp adds a hoe tool for building persistent earth roads and ramps directly on Valheim's real terrain grid.
Version 0.3.3 updates terrain regeneration and persistence calls for Valheim 1.0.7.
Select a start point, an end point, and the road width. The preview shows the exact terrain triangles that will be changed, including diagonal cell edges and adjacent zone boundaries. The same calculated vertex plan is used when the ramp is applied.
Features
- Three-point workflow: A start, B end, W width.
- Persistent terrain changes synchronized through Valheim's vanilla TerrainComp system.
- Symmetric or one-sided road width.
- Four longitudinal profiles selected with Q and E.
- Alt terrain fitting reads the exterior local ground plane before A and after B.
- Compact HUD with length, rise, width, affected vertices, and measured grid slope.
- Exact terrain-grid preview with green/yellow/red validity feedback.
- Original Valheim crow markers without AI, collision, drops, or network entities.
- Russian and English localization.
- Compatible with Build Camera Custom Hammers Edition without a hard dependency.
Controls
- Equip the hoe and select Earth Ramp in the Misc category.
- First click: set point A, the center-line start.
- Second click: set point B, the center-line end.
- Move sideways and click a third time to set the width and apply the ramp.
During width selection:
- Q / E — cycle the road profile.
- Hold Ctrl — expand only the cursor side; the opposite side stays at minimum width.
- Hold Alt — fit the longitudinal and lateral terrain planes outside A and B. Endpoint bending stays local, while the middle remains exactly on the straight A-B line. Uneven or cliff samples are rejected instead of producing pits or ridges.
- G — toggle the technical terrain grid.
- Esc — reset all selected points.
Profiles
- Straight slope — constant slope from A to B with no longitudinal rounding.
- Straight + soft joins — straight A-B section with soft terrain joins outside the endpoints.
- Soft ends — local curves near A and B with a straight middle section.
- Full S-curve — smooth curve across the full ramp length.
Multiplayer
Install Terrain Ramp and Jotunn on the server and on every client. Terrain changes are stored and replicated by Valheim's vanilla terrain system, so completed ramps persist after reconnects and world reloads.
This release is intended for trusted co-op. The building client validates and applies the terrain plan; there is no separate server-authoritative anti-cheat validation yet.
Important limits
- Valheim terrain can only move approximately +/-8 m from its base height.
- The entire ramp footprint must be inside loaded terrain zones.
- The default operation safety cap is 1024 affected terrain vertices.
- The default maximum grid slope is 75 degrees. This is a construction limit, not a guarantee that a vanilla cart can climb the road.
- Very short ramps cannot reproduce every sampled endpoint tangent because collision terrain only exists at discrete grid vertices.
Settings are created in BepInEx/config/com.ostrix.terrainramp.cfg after the first launch.
Manual installation
Install BepInExPack for Valheim and Jotunn, then place TerrainRamp.dll in a folder under BepInEx/plugins.
- Esc — сброс т
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
