About this mod Author’s original text

TeleportBoats

Teleport your nearest boat through portals and dungeons to destinations with water, using synchronized server rules and personal player preferences. Compatible with Valheim 1.0 (Deep North).

Languages

In-game text follows the selected Valheim language and is available in:

English · French · German · Brazilian Portuguese · Russian · Spanish

Features

  • Hover a portal and press Shift + B to bring your nearest boat through the transition after native arrival.
  • Boats are only teleported to the actual arrived destination when that landing point has water; a dry landing is never attempted.
  • For portal travel, the destination portal should be near the sea or other clear water; dungeon arrival points also need nearby clear water. If no safe landing is found within the configured radius, the boat stays behind while the player teleports normally.
  • Server-authoritative transition control (Portals, Dungeons) and search/placement ceilings.
  • Restrictive player preferences allow personal opt-out or disabling specific transitions.
  • Respects world gates (noportals, nobossportals during boss events).
  • Uses active Ladder components as boarding anchors, then active child transforms named with ladder or stair. A Raft without either uses its Ship.m_rudderObject transform as a stern-side anchor. Hull and anchor measurements are saved before teleport so placement can proceed if the source boat unloads. Turns are ranked to bring an anchor nearest the player; if no anchor is available, heading/counterclockwise/clockwise/reverse fallbacks apply. Each orientation uses measured hull and player clearance while searching forward through ±45° positions first, then ±60° and ±75° positions if needed. The landing center must have water, the hull must clear nearby rocks at or just below its measured bottom, and it must not overlap another boat; otherwise the boat stays behind and the player teleports normally.
  • Carries the boat's measured source waterline height to its destination so its hull starts at a similar depth. If that measurement is unavailable, it uses the destination water surface.
  • After an unloaded boat appears at the destination, its owner wakes a sleeping physics body during the follow-up check.

Installation

Recommended: install with Gale. Gale can use both the Hexium and catalogs and imports existing profiles on startup. Install TeleportBoats on the server and every participating client.

Manual: install BepInExPack for Valheim first. Then copy TeleportBoats.dll to Valheim/BepInEx/plugins. ServerSync and YamlDotNet are embedded; do not install separate copies.

Configuration

Install TeleportEverything for in-game settings. Open Boats after Carts to change your transport preferences, shortcut and diagnostics. Only the host or a native server admin can save server transport and landing settings.

The server owns BepInEx/config/odinplus.TeleportBoats.server.yml; each player's odinplus.TeleportBoats.yml can only restrict it. Invalid YAML keeps the last valid policy. The hotkey and diagnostics are local CFG settings. Enable Diagnostics / Log Boat Teleport Destination to log the boat prefab and landing coordinates when the boat is observed at the destination, without enabling detailed diagnostics. The localized Transported your boat message appears once when the boat write is observed within 1.5 m of its destination at follow-up; this behavior still needs in-game validation.

For complete configuration, troubleshooting, and API guidance, see the TeleportBoats documentation.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
