SurtlingFuel
Tired of burning through wood to make coal? Put those surplus Surtling Cores to work! This mod lets you use Surtling Cores as a premium fuel source in both the Smelter and Blast Furnace.
Features
- Surtling Cores as fuel — walk up to a smelter or blast furnace and add cores directly
- 4x fuel value — 1 Surtling Core provides 4 coal-equivalent fuel (smelts 2 ores)
- 2x smelting speed — ores process twice as fast while burning core fuel
- Cores take priority — if you have cores in your inventory, they'll be used first over coal
- Fully configurable — tweak all values via BepInEx config file
Configuration
After first run, edit BepInEx/config/com.dejan.surtlingfuel.cfg:
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---------|---------|-------------|
| SmelterFuelPerCore | 4 | Coal-equivalent fuel per core in the smelter (2 coal per ore, so 4 = 2 ores) |
| BlastFurnaceFuelPerCore | 4 | Coal-equivalent fuel per core in the blast furnace (2 coal per ore, so 4 = 2 ores) |
| SpeedMultiplier | 2.0 | Smelting speed multiplier while burning cores |
| PreferCoresOverCoal | true | When true, cores are used before coal. When false, coal is used first. Client-side only. |

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
