About this mod Author’s original text

Stone Oven Alarm

Tired of burnt bread and pies? This mod plays an alarm when food finishes cooking in the Stone Oven (and, optionally, cooking stations like spits and the iron cooking station), so you can grab it before it burns.

  • Client-side only: install it just for yourself. The server and other players don't need it.
  • Works for every player near the oven, not only for the one who put the food in.
  • Choose from Valheim's own sounds (magic bells, forge, crafting, the oven itself, Hugin), a built-in chime, or your own.wav.ogg.mp3.
  • Configurable repeat count, interval, volume and range.
  • Optional on-screen message ("Comida pronta!" by default, or your own text).
  • Configure everything in game: press F1 (Configuration Manager, installed automatically) and use the Test alarm button to hear your settings.

Configuration

The easiest way is in game: press F1 to open the Configuration Manager and find StoneOvenAlarm. Changes apply immediately.

You can also edit BepInEx/config/batera.StoneOvenAlarm.cfg (created on first launch) with r2modman's Config editor.

| Section | Setting | Default | Description |

|---|---|---|---|

| General | Enabled | true | Turn the alarm on/off |

| General | StoneOvenOnly | true | Only alarm for the Stone Oven (ignore spits / iron cooking station) |

| General | MaxDistance | 60 | Only alarm if you are within this many meters of the station |

| Sound | SoundPreset | MagicBells | Chime, MagicBells, Forge, CraftDone, OvenDone, Hugin or Custom |

| Sound | SoundFile | (empty) | Custom.wav,.ogg or.mp3 (pick it with Browse...), used when SoundPreset = Custom |

| Sound | RepeatCount | 1 | How many times the sound plays |

| Sound | RepeatInterval | 0.4 | Pause (seconds) between repetitions |

| Sound | Volume | 0.6 | 0.0 to 1.0 |

| Sound | TestAlarm | | Button in the F1 window that plays the alarm with the current settings |

| Message | ShowMessage | true | Show a message in the center of the screen |

| Message | MessageText | Comida pronta! | Message text. {item} = food, {station} = station |

Using a custom sound

In game, press F1, click Browse... next to SoundFile and pick any.wav,.ogg or.mp3 on your computer. The preset switches to Custom automatically. Click Reset to clear it.

Editing the.cfg by hand also works: use an absolute path, or put the file in your profile's BepInEx/config folder and type just its name.

Game sound presets are loaded from the game itself, so they only work inside a world. Outside a world (e.g. testing in the main menu), the built-in chime plays instead.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
