Stagger Tuner
Makes Hard/VeryHard playable with non meta weapons/loadout by scaling stagger threshold.
About this mod Author’s original text
Stagger Tuner
Stagger Tuner was created for players who want to play on Hard or Very Hard difficulty without feeling forced into constantly dodging or using specific weapon and shield combinations.
What it does
Stagger Tuner increases the amount of stagger your character can take before being staggered.
The default multiplier is 1.60x, or roughly 60% more stagger resistance. This felt good to me while playing on Hard and Very Hard, but the value is fully configurable.
- 1.0x = Vanilla
- 1.3–1.4x = A lighter adjustment
- 1.6x = Default and my recommended starting point
- Up to 3.0x = Configurable for those who want considerably more stagger resistance
Note: The visible stagger bar does not become larger. The amount of stagger required to fill it is increased.
Stagger Tuner does not reduce incoming damage or increase outgoing damage. Missing a block or parry will still result in taking full damage, so getting hit will still hurt.
Multiplayer
Stagger Tuner supports multiplayer and dedicated servers.
Server settings are automatically synchronized to connected clients and can be locked by the server administrator. The mod must be installed on both the server and connecting clients.
Configuration
The stagger multiplier can be changed using the BepInEx Configuration Manager or by editing the configuration file.
Default: 1.60
Range: 0.50 – 3.00
Vanilla: 1.00

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
