SnowFix
Fixes snow rendering on Mountain and Deep North terrain for Expanded World worlds.
About this mod Author’s original text
Snow Fix
Fixes snow terrain rendering in Valheim. Mountain terrain gets the Deep North deep-snow mask so it renders as white, raised snow, and biome detection at zone edges is made exact so Deep North is no longer hidden near biome borders.
Intended use
This mod is intended for use with the Expanded World mod, and more specifically for worlds that are entirely Deep North / Mountains / Ocean. It is not designed for or tested with vanilla-style worlds.
Configuration
General.MountainDeepSnow (default true): give Mountain terrain the Deep North deep-snow look.
Installation
Install with a mod manager (requires BepInExPack Valheim), or place SnowFix.dll and snowfix_heightmap.bundle together in BepInEx/plugins/SnowFix. Install on the client; for dedicated servers it is not required.
Changelog
- 1.0.0: Initial release. Mountain deep-snow mask, exact biome lookup at edges.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
