ShipConfig
Configure every ship in Valheim: health, speed, steering, damage and build cost, for vanilla and modded ships.
Features
- Every ship gets its own settings, defaulting to its vanilla values (below).
- Global multipliers on top: health, sail force, paddle force, turning, damage taken and build cost.
- Modded ships get settings too (any ship with a Ship and a WearNTear component).
- Changes apply at once, to new ships and to ships already in the world.
- AshlandsOceanDamage off lets ships sail the Ashlands ocean unharmed (this skips the Drakkar's progression gate).
- A small ship panel under the minimap while aboard (below).
Per ship
Raft, Karve, Longship, Drakkar and every modded ship each get:
- Health: the ship's maximum health.
- Sail force: top speed under sail; its height sets how far the ship heels.
- Paddle force: speed while paddling.
- Steering: rudder speed and turning force, under sail and paddling.
- Drag and damping: top speed, sideways slide and how steady the deck is.
- Damage: from every hit, rough seas, capsizing and the Ashlands ocean, or none at all.
- Weather wear: health lost in rain and under water, on or off.
- Build cost: a multiplier on every material.
Ship panel
- Speed: how fast the ship moves, in km/h.
- Speed multiplier: top speed against a vanilla ship of its kind.
- Explore radius: how far around you the map uncovers as you sail.
- Sailing abilities: with GrindstoneSkills, each ability and its cooldown; hover to read what it does.
Install
Needed on the server and every client. Install with r2modman or the app, or put ShipConfig.dll in
BepInEx/plugins.
Configuration
BepInEx/config/com.ShipConfig.cfg; the ship entries appear after the first world load. Every setting is described
in the file and applies without a restart; the server's values bind every player (Lock Configuration). Console:
charter status shows whether the server binds your settings.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
