Settlement Charts
Raids on player settlements become opt-in. A settlement is only a valid raid target while its cartography table is charted. Wilderness events are left exactly as vanilla.
Built for Mistwalkers RP, a whitelisted no-map Valheim server.
How it works
Branches on each event's own nearBaseOnly flag rather than a hardcoded list, so new events are handled without changes here.
| | nearBaseOnly: false | nearBaseOnly: true |
|---|---|---|
| Eligibility | vanilla | charted table within chartRadius |
| Anchor | player position | table position |
| Radius | vanilla 96m | eventRadius |
| Currently | wolves | everything else |
Raid frequency is untouched. Interval and chance stay under the server's raid modifier. Expect the effective rate to fall below nominal, since rolls landing on no occupied charted settlement produce nothing.
Charting
Shift + E on a cartography table opens a naming dialog, pre-filled with whatever the settlement was last called. Confirm and it is charted; cancel and nothing happens.
Shift + E on a charted table erases it immediately, with no dialog.
Erasing never stops a raid already running. Events own their timer once started, and the charted state is read at selection time only.
Map markers
Charted settlements appear as named pins on every player's map. The server reads all cartography table ZDOs, loaded or not, and broadcasts the set. Pins are not written to player map files, so erasing leaves no ghosts.
With the nomap modifier, these are visible only while reading a map at a table.
Console commands
| Command | Purpose |
|---|---|
| chart | Toggle the nearest table |
| chartcheck | Whether a raid could fire where you stand |
| chartlist | Every loaded table and its state |
| chartevents | Run the real selector, print survivors |
| chartforce | Roll for a raid now, through the filter |
| charttimer | Read or set roll interval and chance |
| chartdiag | Probe prefab name and minimap availability |
charttimer writes live world values. Do not leave it cranked on a live server.
Installation
Required on both client and server.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
