SeneaL UI Radar

An add-on for SeneaL UI: creatures on the minimap and the world map.

Needs SeneaL UI 1.1.7 or newer. Install it like any other mod, next to SeneaL UI, and restart the game.

| Marker | Who |

|---|---|

| Red dot | a monster |

| Red dot with a ping | a monster that is hunting |

| Red diamond | a big dangerous monster: 500+ health (trolls, abominations, starred elites) |

| Gold badge with a star | a boss |

| Coin badge | a trader (Haldor, Hildir, the Bog Witch) |

| Blue dot | a peaceful NPC, such as the Dvergr |

| Green dot | a tamed creature |

| Pale dot | an animal: deer, hares, birds |

| Small blue fish | a fish (optional, [Radar] Fish) |

The markers sit under the map pins; on the minimap they never leave its circle. Other players are not shown: the game's own map does that.

Point at a marker on the world map to see a card with the creature's face (its trophy), name, stars, health, what it is doing and how far away it is.

Servers

A server running SeneaL UI can limit the radar in [Server] of its seneaL.valheim.ui.cfg: Radar (On / MinimapOnly / Off), MaxRadarRange (metres) and RadarMonsters (false = no monsters or bosses). It can also forbid the add-on (DeniedAddons = seneaL.valheim.ui.radar) or require the same build as its own (CheckAddonBuilds). The card in F7 → Add-ons says what the server allows. On a server without SeneaL UI the radar stays off, like the mod's other gameplay features.

Settings

SeneaL UI → F7 → Add-ons → SeneaL UI Radar, or BepInEx/config/seneaL.valheim.ui.radar.cfg:

| Setting | Default | What it does |

|---|---|---|

| [Radar] Enabled | on | markers on the minimap |

| [Radar] Range | 80 | how far away creatures are shown, in metres (10–200); the minimap edge limits it too |

| [Radar] LargeMap | on | also on the large world map, within the same range |

| [Radar] Animals | on | animals |

| [Radar] Tamed | on | tamed creatures |

| [Radar] Neutral | on | traders and peaceful NPCs |

| [Radar] Fish | off | fish in the water |

Performance

Creatures around you are looked up four times a second; every frame only the markers already on screen move, without allocations. One small Harmony patch keeps the list of traders. The cost is shown as addon.radar in SeneaL UI's debug timings (about 0.01–0.06 ms per frame).

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
