Runic Character Vault 1.0.4
Keep your players' characters on the dedicated server, with automatic character loading and backups.
Getting started
- Install on the dedicated server and every connecting client.
- Select your character and join the server.
- With AllowExistingCharacters = true, your character's current inventory, skills, appearance and progress become its first vault save. Wait for the save confirmation before leaving.
- Later joins load the character stored by that server.
Use Runic Character Vault as your server-character mod. Remove ServerCharacters or Landoria CharacterVault when switching to it.
Server settings
Edit BepInEx/config/chazman.RunicCharacterVault.cfg, then restart the server.
- AllowExistingCharacters: allow players to enroll previously played characters; enabled by default.
- AllowMultipleCharacters: allow multiple character names per account; disabled by default.
- StartingItems: items for new characters, such as Hammer:1,Torch:1.
Server administrators in adminlist.txt can enroll multiple characters. Existing vault characters keep their saved progress.
Character files
Character files are stored in BepInEx/config/RunicCharacterVault/characters. Automatic backups are in backups; first-enrollment copies are in enrollment-backups. Keep these folders when updating or moving your server.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
