About this mod Author’s original text
Runestone Records
Runestone Records brings your achievements and character statistics together in one in-game journal. Find your next goal, see what you still need, and keep it on screen while you play.
Open it with F7 or the Achievements button in your inventory.
Find your next achievement
- Browse Valheim's native achievements with categories, search, filters, and sorting.
- Read each description at a glance, then expand it to see your progress toward every requirement, including collection entries, difficulty, and combat methods.
- Use Hide Completed to focus on unfinished goals, or Missing Reqs inside an achievement to hide requirements you have already met.
- Prefer a little mystery? Turn on Hide Locked Secrets. Secrets are shown by default; completed ones stay visible with a SECRET badge.
No custom achievements or achievement points are added.
See what you have been up to
The Statistics tab shows your character's recorded combat, survival, exploration, crafting, gathering, fishing, building, and food totals. Search for items and creatures, or expand a statistic for a closer look.
It uses records Valheim has already saved, so existing data can appear straight away. What is available depends on what the game recorded; missing history cannot be recreated.
Keep your goals in sight
Pin up to three achievements to your HUD. Each shows its progress and up to five unfinished requirements, with a count when more remain. Finished goals stay pinned until you remove them.
Move and resize the tracker while the journal is open. You can resize the journal too, and both remember their size. Pins are saved separately for each character. Progress updates while you play without losing your place in the journal.
Getting started
Mod manager: Install Runestone Records for Valheim Mod Manager, r2modman, or Gale. The declared dependencies install BepInExPack for Valheim and Jötunn. Launch the game through the manager, load your character, and press F7.
Manual: Install BepInEx 5 and Jötunn 2.30.0 or later first. Extract this package, then copy plugins/RunestoneRecords.dll to Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/RunestoneRecords/RunestoneRecords.dll. Restart Valheim, load your character, and press F7.
Use F7 to open or close the journal, or close it with Escape. You can change the shortcut in the config.
Runestone Records is client-side. Each player who wants to use it needs it on their own PC; no dedicated-server installation is needed.
Achievements while using mods
By default, Runestone Records also lets Valheim keep recording and unlocking native achievements when mods, cheats, or world modifiers would normally block them.
If you only want the journal, set General.EnableAchievementsWithMods to false. Opening the journal does not grant achievements.
Thanks
Thanks to the BepInEx and Jötunn teams for making mods like this possible.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
