RtD Spawner Reference Fix
In-game tested: Plains dungeon spawners with RtDLegends 1.3.58.
RtDLegends contains spawners with missing creature references. They repeatedly throw The Object you want to instantiate is null and fail to spawn the intended creature.
Fix
Restores references for Dragonide and Frozen Undead immediately before the normal spawn method runs. Five exact spawner names cover 17 broken references found in the inspected bundles. Mappings were recovered from RtDLegends 1.3.54, not guessed.
Only empty references are repaired. Existing references, spawn rules, loot and level logic are left to the original game and mods. No world-save edits or replacement RtDLegends DLL.
Requirements / compatibility
| Package | Version |
|---|---|
| BepInExPack Valheim | 5.4.2351 |
| RtDLegends | 1.3.58 or 1.3.63 only |
The manifest requests RtDLegends 1.3.58. Jotunn is supplied through RtDLegends' dependencies; the inspected setup uses 2.30.2. Built against installed Valheim 1.0.16 libraries.
The plugin stays inactive on other RtDLegends versions. No general fix for unrelated spawners. If the intended creature is unavailable, it logs a diagnostic and retains the original behavior.
Validation
On RtDLegends 1.3.58, five broken Plains dungeon spawners were repaired during a live multiplayer test. Dragonide creatures appeared, and the repeated null-prefab exception did not recur during the observed test. Mountain and outdoor spawners, and version 1.3.63, are asset-verified but not yet tested in-game.
Install / verify
Install on all clients and the dedicated server, then restart them. For manual installation, place the DLL in BepInEx/plugins. Remove older local copies first.
Revisit the affected dungeon and check the log for Restored DG_Spawner_PlainsHorror01_RtD -> PlainsDragonide_RtD. Verify the creature appears and the previous exceptions stop.
Uninstall by removing this plugin after stopping the game/server. Original mod files and saved world data are untouched by the patch.
Unofficial fix by negroni, not affiliated with Soloredis. Source included. No RtD assets or third-party DLLs bundled.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
