Welcome to RtDOnline!

RtDOnline is the modpack that powers the official RtD community server, built on top of RtDMMO and tuned for multiplayer. Whether you want to join us on our server or run the pack on your own, you're welcome here.

If you want the full breakdown of classes, dungeons, quests, and progression, check out RtDMMO and the Wiki. This page focuses on how to play, how to host, and how to reach us.

Two Ways to Play

  • Join the RtD Community Server

Our private server is open to anyone 18 or older who wants to be part of the RtD community. We keep it application-based so everyone gets a fair, cheat-free experience.

How to join:

  • Join the RtD Discord
  • Complete Wick verification
  • Share your SteamID on the signup page
  • Install the pack (see Player Installation below) and you're ready to go once approved

A few ground rules to keep things fun for everyone:

  • You must be 18+ to join.
  • One person, one account. No alts or account sharing.
  • No cheats, exploits, or griefing. Found a bug? Report it to staff, we appreciate it!
  • Accounts with VAC bans, game bans, or a history of bans elsewhere may be denied.
  • By joining, you agree to follow the server rules. Applications and membership are at the discretion of RtD moderators, and bans are final.
  • Use RtDOnline on Your Own Server

Want to run this pack for your own group or community? Go for it! RtDOnline is free for other dedicated servers to use.

If you need a host, Survival Servers sponsors this project and is a great fit for modded Valheim. Signing up through that link also helps support future updates.

Player Installation

  • Install r2modman or the Mod Manager
  • Create a new Valheim profile
  • Search for RtDOnline and install it
  • Click Start modded (the first load takes longer than vanilla, that's normal)

Important: RtDOnline requires a new world and a new character.

Server Owner Installation

  • Set up a Valheim dedicated server (through a host like Survival Servers or on your own machine)
  • Install BepInEx and RtDOnline on the server. Most hosts offer a mod installer, or you can install the pack in r2modman and upload the BepInEx folder to your server's Valheim directory
  • Start the server with a fresh world
  • Make sure your players install the same version of RtDOnline. Sharing an r2modman profile code is an easy way to keep everyone in sync
  • Keep the server and players updated together whenever a new version releases to avoid version mismatch errors

Discord Bot Integration

The Discord features in this pack use the AWL Gaming Discord bot. The RtD bot is tied to our community server only, so if you want Discord integration on your server you'll need to set up your own AWL Gaming bot and configure it for your Discord. The rest of the pack works fine without it.

Running Your Own Server: Please Note

  • You are responsible for your server. That includes moderation, rules, backups, updates, and your community.
  • RtD staff do not moderate, manage, or provide admin support for servers outside of the RtD community.
  • Bug reports related to the modpack itself are always welcome in the RtD Discord.

Community & Contact

  • Discord: Questions, bug reports, patch notes, or just want to hang out? Join the RtD Discord
  • Patreon: Want to support my work directly? Patreon
  • Hosting: Need a good server? Check out Survival Servers. Signing up through that link helps support my projects too

Credits

  • A huge thank you to Alpus for Norse Demigods. Join his Discord here.
  • Thanks to everyone in the RtD community for playing, testing, and reporting bugs. This pack wouldn't be what it is without you.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
