RoofSwap
Hammer tool that swaps thatch roof pieces for shingle roof pieces in place: same shape, position and rotation, so nothing shifts. Shift-click swaps the whole connected roof.

Roof Swap
Unlocked shingle (darkwood) roofs, but your houses still have thatch? Roof Swap adds a tool to the hammer that
replaces thatch roof pieces with the shingle piece of the same shape, at exactly the same position and rotation.
How to use
- Equip the hammer and select Roof Swap in the build menu (type "Roof" in the filter).
- Aim at a thatch roof piece and click: it becomes shingles.
- Hold Left Shift while clicking to swap the whole connected thatch roof at once.
Details
- All 12 thatch roof pieces (26°, 45°, 67°; flat, ridge, inner and outer corner) map 1:1 to their shingle version.
Both use the same material, health and support values, so building stability does not change.
- The new piece costs its normal recipe, taken from your inventory first and then from nearby chests (player-built,
not opened by anyone, accessible to you). For a whole roof the total cost is checked first; if anything is missing
nothing changes and you see what is short.
- The old thatch drops its materials, like removing it with the hammer.
- Normal building rules apply: workbench in range, shingle roofs unlocked, no wards or no-build zones.
Settings
| Section | Setting | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Roof Swap | Whole roof key | LeftShift |
| Roof Swap | Max pieces per whole-roof swap | 300 |
| Roof Swap | Chest range (m) | 50 |
Notes
- Client-side tool. The swapped roofs are normal vanilla pieces, so other players see them without the mod.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
