Remember Portal Name
Remember Portal Name is a quality-of-life mod for Valheim designed to streamline portal management. When you deconstruct a tagged portal with your Hammer, the mod saves its name to memory and automatically applies that exact tag to the very next portal you build. This is intended to allow for easy moving of already created potals as well as having an escape portal tied to a predefined link on the other end. While a blank portal works just as well, it's less useful in multiplayer. That's where this mod comes in handy.
Features
- Automatic Tag Restoration: Deconstructing any tagged portal automatically saves its tag. The next portal you construct will immediately be assigned that tag, saving you from opening the rename menu.
- One-Time Manual Command: Set a target tag for your next portal build using an in-game console command—ideal for setting up your very first portal pair.
- Multi-Word Support: Full support for multi-word tags with spaces (e.g., Black Forest Outpost).
- Clean Single-Use Memory: Once a remembered tag is applied to a newly placed portal, the temporary memory clears automatically to avoid unintended renames on subsequent builds.
- Persistent Default Portal Name (setdefaultportalname): Define a default portal tag that persists across game logouts and server restarts via an in-game console command or the BepInEx configuration file (com.Mauth.rememberportalname.cfg). If no portal was recently deconstructed, new portals will automatically fall back to your default name instead of remaining blank.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
