QualityGlowFix
Tames the glow on items upgraded past max quality (Forge of Potential). Fixes the giant glow ball on some weapons, dims the light it casts, and can cap or turn the glow off. Client-side, configurable.

Quality Glow Fix
Items upgraded past their normal max quality (for example at the Forge of Potential) get a glowing particle effect. On some weapons this effect is badly out of proportion: the Bronze axe turns into a giant glowing ball, and the glow casts so much light on the surroundings that it works like a lamp.
This mod lets you keep the glow but tidy it up, cap it, or turn it off completely. It changes visuals only: item quality and stats are never touched.
Features
- Uniform particle size. Every weapon uses the same glow effect, but vanilla scales the particle size with each weapon's model scale. The Bronze axe's particles end up about 29× larger than the Bronze sword's. With this fix, every weapon gets the same particle size, and the glow still follows the weapon's shape.
- Light control. Lower the brightness and reach of the light the glow casts on its surroundings, or switch it off and keep only the glowing particles.
- Glow modes:
- Vanilla: normal glow levels, with the fixes above applied.
- Limited: the glow never gets brighter than a level you choose, and can be scaled down further.
- Off: no quality glow at all.
- Live changes. Settings apply right away when changed in game with Configuration Manager (F1).
Installation
Install with r2modman or Mod Manager.
To install manually, put QualityGlowFix.dll in BepInEx/plugins.
Client-side only. Each player who wants the effect installs it. It doesn't need to be on the server, and players without it see the vanilla glow.
Configuration
The config file BepInEx/config/QualityGlowFix.cfg is created on first launch.
| Section | Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| General | GlowMode | Vanilla | Off, Limited or Vanilla (see above). |
| Limited | GlowLevelsAboveMax | 1 | Limited mode only. The brightest glow allowed, counted in levels above the item's normal max quality. 1 = the glow of a quality 5 weapon. |
| Limited | GlowStrength | 1.0 | Limited mode only. Multiplier on the glow after the cap (0.5 = half). |
| Particle size | FixParticleSize | true | Gives every weapon the same particle size. |
| Particle size | ParticleSize | 0.2 | Particle size when the fix is on. 0.33 ≈ the vanilla look on the Bronze and Iron swords, 1.0 ≈ the vanilla look on most other weapons. |
| Light | LightStrength | 0.5 | Brightness of the light cast by the glow. 1 = vanilla, 0 = no light. |
| Light | LightRange | 0.5 | How far that light reaches. 1 = vanilla. |
| Diagnostics | LogEffects | false | Writes each glow effect's settings to LogOutput.log. Only useful for troubleshooting. |
Compatibility
- Don't use it together with other mods that remove the quality glow, such as Forge potential no glow, because they change the same effect.
- Works with mods that raise the quality cap or change the Forge of Potential, since it only changes how the glow looks.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
