Odin's Fortune: build a slot machine, put coins in, pull the lever and watch three reels spin. Wins are spat out of the tray, and you can change the bet. It pays back about 93% over time, so it is for fun.

🔍 How it works
Odin's Fortune: a buildable slot machine. Put coins in, pull the lever, and the winnings come out of the tray.
How it works
- Build it with the hammer at a workbench: Fine Wood, Bronze and Stone.
- Press E to pull the lever. Your bet goes in, three reels spin and stop one after another, and a win is spat out of the tray as coins.
- Press the alternate-use key with E to change the bet (5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 coins).
- Three alike pay the most, from three Coins to three Valknuts (300 times your bet). Pairs of Coins, Ravens and Valknuts pay a little.
- Everyone nearby sees the same spin. The lamps chase each other while the reels turn and flash after a win.
- Over a long time it gives back about 93% of what goes in: a fun way to lose a few coins, not a way to make them.
It has its own hand-made look: carved dark wood and gold, a raven on top, a rune-marked marquee, a lever, buttons and a brass payout tray.
Settings let you change the bet and scale the prizes.

⚙️ Settings
In BepInEx/config/com.quad.slotmachine.cfg (made the first time the game runs with the mod).
Play
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Bet | 10 | Coins per pull (change it at the machine with the alternate-use key + use). |
| PayoutPercent | 100 | Scales every prize (100 = standard, which returns about 93% over time; 50 = half the prizes; above 107 the machine pays out more than goes in). In multiplayer the server's value applies. |
👥 Playing together
Everyone in the world needs it, the host above all. It adds a new build piece. Restart the game after updating so it registers cleanly.
🤖 Made with AI
Made with the help of Claude (Anthropic), with Claude Code: designed, written and checked together, and tried in the game.
📜 Changes
- 1.1.1 A new id, com.quad.slotmachine (it was com.dhack.slotmachine): your settings move over by themselves the first time it starts, and the old settings file is kept as a backup. Restart the game after this update. If an old copy is still installed beside it, this one stands down and says which file to delete, so the two never both run. The DLL now says it was made with AI, as asks.
- The machine costs what it should again: 15 Fine Wood, 8 Bronze and 10 Stone (at a workbench), no longer the single Fine Wood it cost while it was being tested. In multiplayer the server decides the payout (PayoutPercent), so nobody can set their own machine to pay out more than goes in.
- Fix: after a fresh game start the slot machine was not registered until the mods were reloaded, so the game deleted any it found standing in the world. It is now registered as the world loads. Ones already lost can't be brought back; build them again. Fix: logging out, or walking away so the machine unloads, before the reels stop no longer loses your bet's winnings: they go into your inventory.
- For testing, the machine costs a single Fine Wood (at a workbench). The real cost comes back after testing.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
