Filter chips above the crafting list at every station: pick a type (weapons, armor, tools, ammo, food, potions), how far into the game it is

(wood and flint, bronze, iron, silver...), or just what you can make now, each with how many recipes it has. The list below is the game's own,

narrowed; crafting and upgrading are unchanged.

⚠️ Known clashes

  • None known. It narrows the game's own recipe list in place (it never swaps the list for another), so other mods that change the list see

the same one.

🔍 How it works

Filter chips above the crafting list: pick a type, a tier or what you can make now.

What is in it

  • At the workbench, forge, cauldron and the other stations, two rows of chips sit above the recipe list. The first row is the type of thing (weapons, armor, tools, ammo, food, potions), with All and Can craft; the second is how far into the game it is (wood and flint, bronze, iron, silver, black metal, Mistlands, Ashlands).
  • Each chip shows how many recipes it has, given what the other row has chosen. Click a chip to pick it, click it again to clear it. All clears everything.
  • Only what that station makes shows, and each station remembers its own choice while the game runs.
  • The list below is the game's own, narrowed: crafting, upgrading and the Upgrade tab are unchanged.

The only setting is Enabled.

⚙️ Settings

In BepInEx/config/com.quad.bettercraftingstations.cfg (made the first time the game runs with the mod).

General

| Setting | Default | What it does |

|---|---|---|

| Enabled | true | Show the filter chips above the crafting list. Off, the list is the game's own. |

🤖 Made with AI

Made with the help of Claude (Anthropic), with Claude Code: designed, written and checked together, and tried in the game.

📜 Changes

  • 0.1.2 A new id, com.quad.bettercraftingstations (it was com.dhack.bettercraftingstations): your settings move over by themselves the first time it starts, and the old settings file is kept as a backup. Restart the game after this update. If an old copy is still installed beside it, this one stands down and says which file to delete, so the two never both run. The DLL now says it was made with AI, as asks.
  • Fix: the chips no longer swap the game's recipe list for a new one (other mods that change the list now see what is shown), the chips can't be pressed by the gamepad buttons of the real tabs any more and no longer cause errors every frame, and clicking a chip no longer writes a line to the log.
  • New: filter chips above the crafting list at every station: a type (weapons, armor, tools, ammo, food, potions), how far into the game (wood and flint, bronze, iron, silver...) or just what you can make now, each with its count.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
