Playmate

Build a worker's bed with the Hammer (Misc tab, look for the colored dot on the icon) and a viking worker moves in: a woodcutter (green), a hunter (orange), a warrior (red) or a guard (blue).

Version 0.24.0 (test build)

  • Beekeeper (unlocks after Eikthyr): collects honey from the beehives within 40 m of the bed once they are half full.
  • Farmer (unlocks after The Elder): plants seeds from the Supply Crate on ground you cultivated within 75 m, harvests ripe crops and replants, up to 100 plants. Out of seeds, the farmer says so and roams; with the field full, the farmer relaxes near the house.

Version 0.23.0 (test build)

  • Fletcher (unlocks after Eikthyr): makes the best arrows the materials in the Supply Crate and the fletcher's chests allow, in batches, for the Export Box. A hunter nearby then only makes arrows for their own quiver.
  • Fisherman (unlocks after The Elder): fishes from a shore within 60 m of the bed with no bait. One fish every 2 to 4 minutes, by the water's biome; ten fish, then home to the Export Box.

Version 0.22.0 (test build)

  • Crew: a warrior or miner following you hops onto a free seat of your ship (also on most modded boats), or stands on deck when every seat is taken, and gets off next to you when you step ashore.
  • Warrior bows: a weaker backup bow (30% of a player's) with unlimited arrows of the warrior's tier, for what the sword cannot reach: flying enemies, enemies in water or out of reach. Aboard, warriors stand up at their seat to shoot (serpents only while above water) and sit back down after the fight. Workers' attacks never damage buildings or ships.
  • Beds cost more (the hunter now unlocks from the start). Hiring fees: woodcutter 25, hunter 75, cook 75, miner 150, merchant 150, warrior 250, guard 300 Coins.

Version 0.21.0 (test build)

  • Cook (pink dot, unlocks after Eikthyr, two per base, comfort 4): keeps the cooking stations within 30 m of the bed going. The cook feeds their fires, puts raw meat on, takes it off when done and never walks away while something is cooking. Tier 2 (Cook's Spice Rack) adds cauldron food, best first, with the cauldron's upgrades. Tier 3 (Cook's Butcher Table) adds feasts at a food preparation table, as far as your world's boss progress allows. Ingredients come from the cook's chests and the Supply Crate; food goes to the Export Boxes. Wears town clothes and never fights.
  • Supply Crate: now also takes anything a worker living within 125 m can use (ore and coal for a miner, arrow materials for a hunter, fuel for a guard, ingredients for a cook), up to 50 of each, before the rest is exported. This includes the guard's fight loot.

Version 0.20.0 (test build)

  • Game for a hunter who finds none: after two in-game hours of hunting with nothing in the area, a deer (or a boar in the Meadows) wanders in 40 to 60 m away, away from buildings and players. At most two a day per hunter, and none once the hunter's goods are at quota.
  • Export Box and Supply Crate from the start: no boss needed, but still expensive. Export Box: 40 Wood, 10 Resin, 5 Deer Hide. Supply Crate: 40 Wood, 10 Flint, 10 Leather Scraps.

Version 0.19.0 (test build)

  • Own chests and Export Boxes: each worker claims their own chests by the bed (2, or 3 for the merchant) and up to two Export Boxes within 100 m, nearest first. Another worker never uses them, so two workers in one house with two boxes side by side never mix goods. Look at a chest or box to see whose it is. When a worker's boxes are full, the worker wanders near the house until you empty one.
  • Supply Crates now reach 125 m. The miner fills kilns, smelters and furnaces from the spot a player uses.

Version 0.18.0 (test build)

  • Merchant (purple dot, unlocks after The Elder, one per base, comfort 6): the chests by the bed are a market stall. Workers bring what they make beyond their export quotas there. Every third day the merchant packs goods worth up to 141 Coins, leaves in the morning and is back the next morning with Coins for t

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
