Remove or thin Valheim map pins by name. Clean AutoMapPins Twitcher spam without wiping your whole map.

About this mod Author’s original text

Pin Removal

Clean named map pins off your Valheim map without wiping every marker you placed by hand.

AutoMapPins (and similar mods) can stamp hundreds of permanent pins — Ashlands Twitcher spam is the usual example. Turning those pins off in YAML stops new ones. Existing pins stay. This mod removes or thins the leftovers.

Current version: 1.0.0

Requires: Valheim 1.0 and BepInEx Pack for Valheim 5.4.2350+ (Unity 6)

Install: Client-side only. No server install. Other players do not need the mod.

How to use it

  • Be in-world with the minimap loaded (open the map once if a command says it is not ready).
  • Open chat (Enter) or the F5 console. F1 is Configuration Manager on a typical r2modman setup.
  • Remove every matching pin, or keep one per radius:

/pinremoval_remove Twitcher

/pinremoval_duplicate Twitcher

/pinremoval_duplicate Twitcher 5

A space after the slash is accepted (/ pinremoval_remove Twitcher). The same names work in F5 without the slash. pinremoval_dedupe is an alias for duplicate.

If you omit the name, the command uses PinNames from config (default Twitcher).

Recommended with AutoMapPins

  • Set the noisy pin type isActive: false in AutoMapPins YAML so new pins stop.
  • Run /pinremoval_remove Twitcher once (or /pinremoval_duplicate Twitcher to thin instead of wipe).

What it does not do

  • Does not change other players' maps. Cleanup is local to you.
  • Does not empty the cartography table. If another player recorded Twitcher pins to the table, copying the table can put those pins back on your map. Pins that were originally yours and only exist on the table are not given back to you.
  • Does not stop AutoMapPins from adding new pins. Disable the pin type there first.

Config (BepInEx/config/Hardwire99.PinRemoval.cfg)

| Setting | Default | Effect |

|---------|---------|--------|

| PinNames | Twitcher | Comma-separated name filters used when a command omits the name |

| DefaultMode | Deduplicate | RemoveAll or Deduplicate for /pinremoval with no mode |

| DeduplicateRadiusMeters | 5 | Keep one matching pin per name within this many meters |

| MatchContains | true | true = name contains the filter. false = exact name |

| CaseInsensitive | true | Ignore case when matching |

Commands

| Chat | Console | Result |

|------|---------|--------|

| /pinremoval_remove [names] | pinremoval_remove [names] | Delete every matching pin |

| /pinremoval_duplicate [names] [radius] | pinremoval_duplicate [names] [radius] | Keep one match per radius |

| /pinremoval [remove\|duplicate] [names] [radius] | pinremoval … | Same, mode as first argument |

Results show in chat console text and as a top-left HUD line: matched / removed / kept.

Requirements

  • Valheim 1.0 (Unity 6)
  • BepInEx Pack for Valheim 5.4.2350+

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
