PingLimiter
Latency control for servers.
About this mod Author’s original text
Ping Limiter
PingLimiter monitors player latency after they enter the world and automatically kicks players when their average ping exceeds the allowed limit.
Designed for servers that aim to maintain high connection quality and prevent performance issues caused by players loading areas with poor connections, resulting in excessive server lag.
The mod includes internal parameters responsible for controlling and evaluating player latency, including:
- Ping check interval, which defines the frequency of latency measurements.
- Maximum number of high-ping occurrences before the player is automatically disconnected.
- Grace period after entering the world, during which the player is not evaluated.
- Smoothing window, used in the calculation of average ping to reduce abrupt variations.
- Limit of connections processed per cycle.
- Response timeout, used to detect unstable or unresponsive connections.
- Discord webhook integration.
Configuration and logging
PingLimiter uses ServerSync to synchronize all configuration values.
Automatic disconnections caused by high latency or missing responses are logged in the BepInEx/config/PingLimiterLog directory.
Installation (manual)
- Place PingLimiter.dll inside your BepInEx\plugins\ folder.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
