Parry Rebalanced for Very Hard
Restores practical parrying on Very Hard while keeping timing, equipment and character progression meaningful.
Correctly timed parries are evaluated without the world's extra enemy damage multiplier. Damage that gets through still receives the full difficulty multiplier.
Features
- Removes the extra difficulty damage multiplier from PvE parry checks on Very Hard and Hard without changing the timing required to parry.
- Keeps shield strength, Blocking skill, food, stamina and enemy stars relevant.
- Leaves ordinary blocks, PvP and Normal or easier difficulty unchanged.
- Does not make every attack parryable or guarantee a successful parry.
Requirements
- BepInEx 5
Installation
Mod manager
Install with r2modman or Mod Manager, then launch the game using Start modded.
Manual
- Install BepInEx 5.
- Extract ParryRebalancedForVeryHard.dll from the ZIP's plugins folder into BepInEx/plugins.
- Launch the game once to generate the configuration file.
Configuration
Configuration file: BepInEx/config/ScottDark.ParryRebalancedForVeryHard.cfg
| Setting | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| General.Enabled | true | Enables the adjusted parry calculations. |
Close the game before editing the configuration, then restart to apply changes.
Compatibility
Client-side: install on each player's computer that should use the adjusted parrying. A dedicated server installation should not be necessary; multiplayer has not yet been tested.
Mods that modify blocking, parrying or incoming damage may conflict. Compatibility with other combat mods has not been verified.
Notes
Parries can still fail because of insufficient gear, low stamina, accumulated stagger or powerful enemies. Damage that passes through a parry retains difficulty scaling and can cause additional stagger.
The floating blocked-damage number reflects the adjusted parry calculation.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
